Terms of Use
Effective Date: 29 June 2024 | Last Updated: 15 June 2026
Welcome to Oodle. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement that governs your access to and use of the Oodle mobile application, the website at oodle.social, and all related features and services (together, the "Service").
Oodle is operated by Siddhant Aurora, a sole proprietor based in Mumbai, India ("Oodle," "we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us any time at [email protected].
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines (each incorporated by reference). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Important things to know before you start
You are responsible for your own interactions with other users. We do not run criminal background checks and do not verify users' identities. You use the Service, and meet or communicate with other people, entirely at your own risk. See Section 6.
Never send money or intimate content to anyone you meet here. Romance scams, fraud, and extortion ("sextortion") are real. Never send money, gifts, cryptocurrency, gift cards, bank details, or intimate photos or video to another user — no matter what they tell you. See Sections 5 and 6.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you cancel through the App Store or Google Play, not through us. See Section 12.
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google. If you bought through their stores, refund requests go to them, and we generally cannot issue or reverse those charges. See Section 12.
Disputes with us are resolved as set out in Section 18, and nothing in these Terms takes away consumer rights you have under the law where you live (Section 19).
1. Who can use Oodle
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that all of the following are true:
1.1. You are an individual at least 18 years old (or older, if the age of majority where you live is higher), and not a company or other organization.
1.2. You are legally able to enter into a binding contract with us and are not barred from using the Service under any law that applies to you.
1.3. You are not located in, or a resident or national of, any country or region subject to sanctions or an embargo by India, the United States, the United Nations, or the European Union, and you are not on any sanctions or denied-parties list.
1.4. You have never been convicted of, or pleaded guilty or no-contest to, any felony or any crime involving violence, the threat of violence, sexual misconduct, fraud, or human trafficking, and you are not required to register as a sex offender with any authority.
1.5. You have not previously been banned or removed from the Service, unless we have given you written permission to return.
If you ever stop meeting these requirements, your permission to use the Service ends automatically, you must delete your account, and we may delete it ourselves without notice.
2. What Oodle is — and what it is not
2.1. Oodle is a platform that helps adults discover, connect with, and message one another. We provide the tools — profiles, matching, messaging, and boosts — and nothing more.
2.2. We do not introduce, screen, recommend, endorse, vouch for, employ, or vet any user. We are not a matchmaking, marriage-brokering, mail-order-spouse, background-check, identity-verification, escort, or "introduction" agency, and we are under no obligation to broker anyone to you. Where the Service describes a profile as "verified," that refers only to limited automated checks we may run from time to time; it is not a guarantee of anyone's identity, age, character, relationship status, criminal history, or safety.
2.3. We do not control, and are not responsible for, what any user says or does, whether on the Service or anywhere else. Profiles, messages, and other content created by users belong to those users, not to us.
2.4. You choose who to contact. Oodle does not introduce, match, refer, or broker any user to any other user. We do not select partners for you, arrange contact between members, or make introductions. Members search, browse, and decide entirely for themselves who they wish to contact, and communicate with one another on their own through the Service. Any feature that displays profiles to you — search, filters, discovery feeds, or interest-based suggestions — simply shows you members who already exist on the Service. The decision to contact anyone, and the decision to reply, is made solely by the members themselves.
3. Your account
3.1. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your login details secure. Tell us at [email protected] immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.
3.2. One account per person. You may not share, sell, transfer, or use anyone else's account.
3.3. The information you give us must be true and kept up to date. Giving false information breaks these Terms.
4. Free and paid features; virtual items
4.1. Oodle has a free tier with limited features and one or more paid subscriptions ("Oodle+") that unlock additional features such as seeing who liked you, expanded messaging, and boosts. We may change the features, limits, and prices of any tier at any time, subject to Section 12.
4.2. Virtual items such as "Boosts" and "Sparks" are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use a feature of the Service. They are not your property, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are lost if your account is terminated or the Service is discontinued, except where the law requires otherwise. We may create, manage, regulate, or remove virtual items as we see fit.
4.3. Pricing. Subscription prices and the features included at each tier are shown in the app before you purchase. Within any given market, we charge the same published price and offer the same features to every user on the same tier, regardless of gender, nationality, or country of citizenship. Prices may differ between countries. Those differences reflect local taxes, app-store pricing tiers, currency, purchasing power, and other commercial conditions in that market — never the identity, gender, or nationality of the user. Your price is set by the App Store or Google Play storefront associated with your account.
4.4. Oodle provides access to the Service, where members can communicate with one another on their own, without matchmaking by Oodle. Access to the Service is free, and only some additional features are paid.
5. Things you must not do
You agree that you will not, and will not try to:
5.1. Ask for, accept, or send money, gifts, loans, cryptocurrency, gift cards, financial-account details, or anything else of value to or from another user.
5.2. Engage in or help any fraud, romance scam, "pig-butchering," catfishing, extortion, sextortion, blackmail, phishing, money laundering, or pyramid or similar scheme.
5.3. Record, screenshot, threaten to share, or actually share another person's private messages, images, or video without their consent — including to embarrass, pressure, or extort them.
5.4. Misrepresent your identity, age, photos, location, employment, or affiliations, or impersonate any person or organization.
5.5. Harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, threaten, defame, or harm any person, on or off the Service.
5.6. Collect other users' personal or financial information for commercial or unlawful purposes, or share anyone's private information without their consent.
5.7. Use the Service for advertising, commercial solicitation, sex work, "sugar" arrangements, or to push users onto other platforms for any of the above.
5.8. Upload malware; scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, or access the Service by automated means; probe or get around our security; or otherwise disrupt the Service or infringe anyone's rights.
5.9. Use the Service in any way that breaks the law.
5.10. Use the Service to arrange, broker, solicit, or advertise a marriage or common-law partnership for money or other consideration, or to recruit any person into a club, association, or scheme that does so.
5.11. Local laws: You must comply with the laws of your country of residence and citizenship. You may not use the Service if the Service is prohibited where you live. It is your responsibility to ensure your use of the Service is lawful. If you reside in a jurisdiction with such laws, you warrant, represent, and undertake that you will not use the Service in breach of them. The indemnity in Section 16 applies to any breach of this clause.
Breaking these rules can lead to immediate suspension or termination without a refund (Section 13), and we may report serious conduct to law enforcement.
6. Your interactions with other users — your risk, your responsibility
Please read this section carefully. It explains a core part of the deal between you and us.
6.1. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. You understand that we do not run criminal background checks, do not verify anyone's identity or what they tell you, and do not comprehensively screen users.
6.2. You assume all risk arising from your use of the Service and from any interaction with another user — including any meeting, conversation, transaction, relationship, or dispute, online or in person — including the risk that the other person is dishonest, a scammer, a criminal, a minor lying about their age, or otherwise not who they claim to be.
6.3. We are not responsible or liable for the conduct of any user. Any dispute, loss, injury, or damage that arises between you and another user — including fraud, scams, extortion, theft, financial loss, emotional distress, harassment, or any other harm — is a matter solely between you and that other person. You must pursue any remedy directly against them and, where a crime may have occurred, with the police and other authorities. We have no obligation to mediate, investigate, or compensate you, although we may choose to act on reports at our discretion.
6.4. Release. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and discharge Oodle (including its owner, employees, and agents) from all claims, demands, damages, losses, and liabilities of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or connected with (a) your interactions or disputes with any other user or third party, or (b) anything any user does or fails to do.
6.5. Stay safe. Never send money or financial details to anyone you meet here. Never share intimate images or video. Be careful about sharing personal information or moving conversations to other apps. Review our Safety Tips. If you think you are the victim of a crime, contact your local police. In India, you can also report online fraud and intimate-image abuse to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or by calling 1930.
7. Content you provide
7.1. You are responsible for everything you post — your profile text, photos, messages, and anything else you upload ("Your Content"). You confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, that it is accurate, and that it does not break these Terms or anyone's rights.
7.2. Licence to us. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, and distribute Your Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except (a) where you have already shared it with others who have not deleted it, and (b) for backups and records we are required to keep by law.
7.3. We may remove content. We may review, remove, limit, or block any content at our discretion, but we are not obligated to monitor content and are not liable for content we do not remove.
7.4. Other users' content belongs to them, may be inaccurate or offensive, and should be independently verified by you. We are not responsible for it.
8. Reporting, moderation, and safety
We take safety seriously. Reporting helps us keep the community safe — please use it.
8.1. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Oodle has zero tolerance for objectionable content (including harassment, threats, nudity or sexually explicit content, hate speech, and content that is illegal or harmful) and for abusive users. By using the Service, you agree to these standards and to our Community Guidelines.
8.2. Reporting and our response. You can report a user, a profile, a message, or any content using the in-app reporting tools or by emailing [email protected]. We aim to respond to reports promptly and, where we confirm that content or conduct is objectionable, we will remove the offending content and remove (eject) the responsible user from the Service within 24 hours of the report.
8.3. Blocking. You can block any user at any time from their profile or your conversation with them, which prevents further contact through the Service.
8.4. Moderation. We use a combination of automated and human review to detect and act on content that violates these Terms, but we are not obligated to monitor all content and are not liable for content we do not remove.
8.5. Grievance Officer (India). In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, complaints about content or conduct on the Service can be sent to our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer: Siddhant Aurora Email: [email protected]
We will acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within the time the law requires.
8.6. Intimate-image abuse and sextortion. If you are shown in intimate content shared without your consent, or are being threatened with such sharing, report it to the Grievance Officer immediately. We will act to remove or disable access to that content within 24 hours of a valid complaint, in line with Rule 3(2)(b) of the 2021 IT Rules, and may report it to the authorities.
8.7. Child safety — zero tolerance. We do not allow any sexualization of minors or any child sexual abuse or exploitation material. We remove such content, ban those responsible, preserve evidence, and report to the relevant authorities (including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and Indian law-enforcement agencies) as required by law.
8.8. No guarantee. Our safety efforts do not guarantee that the Service is free of bad actors, and acting on some reports does not create a duty to act on all of them or any duty of care beyond what the law requires.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it, and which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We handle personal data in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
10. Intellectual property
10.1. The Service and everything we provide in it — software, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks ("Our Content") — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. All other rights are reserved.
10.2. Copyright complaints. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email the details to [email protected]. We may remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.
11. App stores and third-party services
11.1. The Service may link to or rely on third-party services. We are not responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
11.2. Third-party terms. When using the Service, you must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement (for example, your mobile carrier's data-plan terms).
11.3. Apple App Store. If you download or use our iOS app from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply, and you acknowledge and agree that:
(a) These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. Apple is not a party to these Terms, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
(b) Licence scope. Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
(c) Maintenance and support. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support.
(d) Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the app's purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a warranty failure are our sole responsibility.
(e) Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your use of it, including (i) product-liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar laws.
(f) Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
(g) Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and (ii) you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
(h) Developer contact. The app is provided by Siddhant Aurora, and questions, complaints, or claims about the app may be directed to: 22 Dreamland Bungalows, Near Jai Shastri Nagar, Mulund West, Mumbai 400082, India, telephone +91 99206 11097, email [email protected].
(i) Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
11.4. Google Play. If you download or use our Android app from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Play Developer Distribution policies, which you agree to comply with.
12. Billing, auto-renewal, price changes, and refunds
12.1. Billing through the stores. Paid subscriptions and virtual items are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and you are charged through your store account when you confirm a purchase.
12.2. Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
12.3. Price and feature changes. We may change prices and features. Changes apply to future renewals; where the law requires, we will give you advance notice and/or ask for your consent.
12.4. Refunds.
If you purchased through Apple or Google, all refund requests are handled by them under their policies, and we generally cannot issue or reverse those charges. Apple: request a refund through your Apple ID account or at reportaproblem.apple.com. Google: request a refund through Google Play.
Except where required by law or by the relevant app store, all purchases are final and non-refundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.
If you are a consumer in a place that gives you a statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase, that right applies where it has not been validly waived and prevails over this section.
We are not required to give a refund when we suspend or terminate your account for breaking these Terms.
13. Suspension and termination
13.1. By you — account deletion. You can stop using Oodle at any time. You can delete your account directly in the app (in Settings), and you can also request account and data deletion without the app by emailing [email protected] at any time. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it, except any data we must keep for legitimate reasons such as security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution, as described in our Privacy Policy. Temporarily deactivating or hiding your profile is not the same as deleting your account. Before deleting, cancel any active subscription through the App Store or Google Play, as deleting your account does not cancel store subscriptions.
13.2. By us. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account and access at any time, with or without notice, and without liability, including where we believe you have broken these Terms, misused the Service, or acted unlawfully or harmfully — on or off the Service. Consistent with applicable law, we may decline to share our reasons where doing so could affect the safety or privacy of others.
13.3. What happens next. When your account ends, your licence to use the Service ends and virtual items are lost. No refund is owed when we terminate for cause. Any parts of these Terms that should survive (including Sections 5–8, 10, and 14–19) continue to apply.
14. Disclaimers
14.1. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
14.2. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that any user is who they claim to be; that you will find a match, a relationship, or any particular outcome; or that any user will behave lawfully, honestly, or safely.
14.3. Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of the above may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
15.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oodle and its owner, employees, agents, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to (a) your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) the conduct or content of any user or third party, including any fraud, scam, extortion, harassment, or harm; or (c) any unauthorized access to or alteration of your content — even if we have been told such damages were possible.
15.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) USD 100.
15.3. Where the law does not allow these limits — for example, for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence — our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law allows, and nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oodle and its owner, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) content you provide; (b) your use of the Service; (c) your interactions or disputes with any other user or third party; (d) your breach of these Terms or any law; or (e) your violation of anyone's rights.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes or where the law requires, give notice and/or ask for your acceptance. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
18. Governing law and disputes
18.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
18.2. Talk to us first. If you have a problem, please contact us at [email protected] before taking any other step — most issues can be sorted out quickly this way.
18.3. Subject to any consumer rights you cannot waive under the law where you live, the courts at Mumbai, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
19. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law where you live. Where local law that you cannot contract out of conflicts with these Terms, that law applies to you.
20. General
20.1. Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any additional terms shown to you at the time of a purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
20.2. Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies, and that part is limited only as much as necessary.
20.3. No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
20.4. Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them — for example, to a successor business or new operating entity, or in connection with a sale of the business.
20.5. Events beyond our control. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
20.6. Contact. Questions, notices, and complaints: [email protected] (Grievance Officer: Siddhant Aurora).
By using Oodle, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use.
